The Challenge
In solemnisation of our 100th Shooting Challenge , it ’s a utter gratis - for - all . But I should say , there are 99 large ideas if you ’re short of mind , just hold out ourlibrary of challenges . And there ’s no shame in attempting to repeat a past victor — none whatsoever . Just have fun and do your affair . Just take exposure .
The Example

When I pitched the melodic theme of Shooting Challenges , I never knew if they ’d take off on Gizmodo . I was n’t sure if anyone would be crazy enough to give up what ’s turned out to be several hours of their weekend to enter for a no - pillage .
I was always bilk by the weekly assignment I ’d had in my college video classes , never understanding why I was drive to bind one hand behind my back , creating a account in a individual shot or without use of dialog . It was n’t until a few eld later that I realized I ’d had the rarified opportunity : to do isolated workouts for my creative thinking , to play with a unmarried musical theme for that single idea ’s sake , and , sure , to sometimes fail but have a fantastic self-justification as to why I did .
I hope that Shooting Challenges have served much the same purpose for your photography , frustrating you just a bit in your hebdomadary physical exercise , but ultimately tone accomplishment sets to make your personal representative stronger . If just one of you has mumbled “ jazz you Mark Wilson ” just before capturing an amazing blastoff , we ’ve all won .
The Rules
1 . Submissions need to be your own .

3 . Explain , briefly , the equipment , setting , proficiency and fib behind shot .

5 . let in 970px all-encompassing image ( 200 KB or less ) AND a 2560×1600 sized in email . I eff that your photo may not fall into those exact high rez property , so whatever native solvent you ’re using is fine .
6 . One submission per individual .
8 . You agree to theStandard Contest Rules – though we DO accept non - US resident submissions .
9 . If the image contains any material or elements that are not possess by you and/or which are capable to the rights of third parties , and/or if any someone seem in the trope , you are responsible for obtaining , prior to submission of the photograph , any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and purpose of the image in the manner sic forth in these rules without additional recompense . Send your best photo by Monday , Oct 17th at 10AM Eastern to[email protected]with “ 100 ” in the subject line . store your files as JPGs , and utilize a FirstnameLastname100.jpg ( 970px wide ) and FirstnameLastname100Wallpaper.jpg ( 2560px wide ) naming conventions . Include your shooting sum-up ( camera , lens , ISO , etc ) in the body of the email along with a story of the barb in a few time .
