Your 3 - mean solar day weekend is over . BUT!The explosions . Those populate on .
Winner: 15th Floor
I live on the 15th flooring of an flat construction , and I am favorable that the fireworks are set off in the field across the street ! I am able-bodied to set my tv camera on a tripod while in my own domicile . This is only my 2nd 4th of July with a camera so I ’m really activated with how this nip come out ! Nikon 1 v1 camera , 1 Nikkor 18.4 mm lens ( 50 millimeter combining weight ) , I set my tv camera on the tripod and go under it for a 15 2nd exposure . f/16 , ISO 100

Vivid Explosion
Shot on a tripod mount Sony a6000 with Sony 70 - 200 F4 lens at 125 mm , F10.0 , ISO 125 , 3.2 2d exposure . Cropped and sort out for colour and lens system torture in Lightroom . I have own the a6000 for a hebdomad and bought 70 - 200 lens on the 3rd . It was my first time shooting with the Sony in any low-pitched Inner Light setting , so I was n’t optimistic . Just sat with my wife and kids , munch Zea mays everta and pounding the shutter remote control . But I terminate up with a couple of pretty graphic explosions . I ’m search frontwards to next class when I ’ve had some time to grow into the novel gear .

Behind the Scenes
I ’ve been friends with , and defacto embedded lensman for , the pyro work party at the local AA baseball club for the last seven years . This has open me the chance to watch shows from a position most never see . And while the bright colors and effects once the plate break tie the ooohs and aaahs of the crowd , for me nothing matches the unsanded ferocity of the rhytidoplasty charge combust and enamour the concussive gust full on in the chest .

First Time
It ’s that time of the year , this is the my first time scoot firework . The competition really made me commit to getting the honorable scene that I can . I used my Olympus E - PL5 with the kit 40 - 150 millimetre lense . I zoomed in as closed as I could . prosperous for me the camera has a fireworks shooting fashion in the configurations .
A tripod was used and it ’s a must . I also use a Pixel RW-221 / UC1 wireless remote . Did not want to touch the camera . The picture was blue-pencil in Adobe Lightroom . I really require a dark smutty sky , I adjusted the line and the blacks to really make the colors pop out .

White Flower
This was my first public firework show in year , and my first time fool firework with a dslr . The positioning was on a beach and temperature was a nerveless 65 level with little jazz . Fireworks show was slated for 9 phase modulation but was delay until 9:45pm . Sadly , i did n’t stay on for the entire show , I want to pose the traffic at the end . i think this picture came out middling neat and was worth braving the night bugs on the beach ! Canon T5i , 18 - 55 mm MF , iso 100 , F16 , 5 second shutter speed , no tripod .

Out Golfing

Fireworks In Space
I recently got into picture taking and really wanted to get some coolheaded scene of the fireworks on the 4th . So I read a bunch of stuff and nonsense on the internet about it and then the 4th ultimately wander around . My married man , two toddler and I were at a destitute city event where I sat up my tripod and take some picture . I was pleasantly surprised by the solvent . This one search like an exploding adept in space or something . Those are n’t stars even though they look like it . Just sparks . Also , my baby sleep through the show . Canon Rebel EOS T1i , Old metallic element Tripod from father - in - law , F/14 ISO : 100 , Shutter hurrying : Bulb 3 seconds , 35 - 80 mm kit lens

Decent
It was red-hot , with a slight breeze , which is kind of weird for Wisconsin … lol . Anyway , they invalidate pyrotechnic in my metropolis , something about the people were too old . Well my three kids are n’t too old so we discover these pyrotechnic were decent . Went to the beach ( about a 45 minute private road ) , went for a swim , watched the youthful boy ditch someone french-fried potatoes out on the Baroness Dudevant ( they were n’t sick ) . Well when the pyrotechnic were ready to start , already had my tv camera and tripod set . Fiddled with the options a bite and used some fill trice to lend some the great unwashed in the foreground , thought this was the best . Nikon D7000 w/ 18 - 105 mm lens , Manfrotto tripod , Wireless shutter exit , 4sec . , ISO-100 , f/7.1 , 48 mm focal duration

Excellent

Cleared For Takeoff
I ’m still fair new to photography as an prowess build , so I of course began the evening by taking a series of uninventive photos with a undivided pyrotechnic per stroke , zoomed out to include pile of dead place . After a while , I get to thinking . pyrotechnic , in my opinion , are good when you are close enough to feel the concussive blast in your thorax . So if I like become my consistency tight , why not get the photo close ? I zoom in and straightaway started get shot that were much more interesting .
My favorite shot from the night is “ Cleared For Takeoff ” . The arching crinkle radiate from central points reminded me of a map of air hose routes tracing over the clean battery-acid of metropolis at dark . Shot at ISO 200 , f/14 , 1 2d ( manual lightbulb )

Elitch Gardens
Elitch Gardens in Denver had fireworks scheduled for 10 pm on the 4th . I visualise I could do some nice shot with business district Denver in the backcloth , so I decided to push to the Highlands sphere of the township with my kinfolk , enjoy the fireworks and take a few photos . I did some pyrotechnic in Vail last year , and while I jazz them , lack of any interesting background made the photo boring . This class , I decide to change that .
I used my Canon 6D , Canon 16 - 35L IS f4 , Manfrotto 190XL tripod , and a cheap remote trigger . I timed my photos anywhere from 4 to 15 seconds . I had ISO at 400 for some , 640 for others .
This picky pic was done at 35 mm , 11 second , F13 , ISO 400 in incandescent lamp mode- full spectacles here .

Moral Photography
Its always playfulness to hole around with the distance of the pic for this stuff and nonsense , that s when you get a shot that you do n’t actually see in front of you . One of the downside to long exposure with fire kit and boodle is that the lightness is cumulative , the more blowup in the same part of the frame just adds more light to that area and everything gets burnished and brighter until its too brilliant , so a good long vulnerability is luck , where several areas of the frame get just enough of an explosion and you get a good pic . This picture work out nicely , I wish the agency you may see the flatboat everything is come from as well as the smoke from the launching . The fireworks were launch from a barge on the H2O , you’re able to see the tug boat with blue lights on the left . The whole thing arrives less then an hour before it starts to go off . I have a mint of close up shots of the burst but this frame kind of indicate the mechanics of the show , a little Brecht in the even . I used no photoshop because photoshop is base , this is how it come off the camera . Nikon D5100 , 18 - 200 mm zoom . ISO 100 , F29 , 25 second exposure .

Color Burst
For the 4th of July , the better - half propose we watch Tampa ’s firework from the SS American Victory which is a Victory course Merchant Marine ship that was put into service towards the end of World War II . The American Victory , now docked in Tampa , help as museum and is one of just three such ships that are still full operational and seaworthy . This is , arguably , the most patriotic lieu to watch Independence Day firework from . It is sure as shooting the most patriotic place I ’ve ever look out them from , even best than seeing the fireworks over the National Mall in Washington , D.C.
Being Florida in the summertime , it can rain at any fourth dimension . Sure enough , two hours before the pyrotechnic were to set about , a thunderstorm formed right overhead . As the storm started to pass , we made our mode up to the fly span , the highest publicly approachable point of the ship . We weather rain and a spectacular lightning display outside on the bridge while the pyrotechnic were delay for 45 minutes due to the storm . The barge that the firework were being launched from was just off the fore of our ship ; we were about as close as you could sound be to the launch expanse . For those of us who unwisely rode out the tempest mellow up on the bridge , we were rewarded with the good seats in the city for the fireworks .
This shot is from the start of the finale . I framed it so that the foremast , it ’s masthouse , and some of the ship ’s freight rigging in the foreground obscured the firework just a bit to add some depth to the lights lining the waters of the Port of Tampa . I took the video with our Nikon D3100 with it ’s 18 - 55 mm lens . It was go under at ISO 800 with a 1/60 second shutter at f/3.5 and focal length on 18 mm . I ran the RAW Indian file through Photoshop CS6 to make some pocket-sized tweaks to the exposure , contrast , and white balance . I then cropped out part of the empty Nox sky as I was shooting in portrayal data format at the metre and needed to make it more concise .

Front Street
Here ’s a shot from Front Street on Maui . They have a big jubilation that shut down the street for 4th of July . There ’s essentially a gravy holder between Lanai and Maui that shoots off fireworks for a good 30 minutes . Twas awesome . Shot with my Sony RX100 .

Alki Beach
I was walking home along Alki Beach in West Seattle on the Fourth of July when I noticed a pair of promising “ stars ” . I searched online and found the io9 clause about the Venus and Jupiter conjunctive . Everyone on the beach was look east toward the big fireworks show in Seattle , but I keep looking back west at the planets . The firework in the picture is from the Bainbridge Island show across the Puget Sound from Seattle .

Lake Norman
I ’m in NC on Lake Norman for the week to be Best Man in my supporter ’s marriage . I ’ve done this shot challenge in the past and immediately love how I desire to get my stab this year . The angle I wanted required me to be so down that a tripod was out . After a few failed attempts , I finally nailed it while pose down in the Gunter Wilhelm Grass with my arm supporting my question and my camera . When the fireworks begin , I framed it , squeeze the shutter and bear my breath . After the first few fails , I did n’t think I would land the shot . I ’m having the delineation louse up and framed for the couple . Congrats Brandon and Vindhya ! ! ! Shot with a Canon 7D Mk . I , 28 - 135 f3.5 - 5.6 USM
