Winner: 10AM Dream

After fall out of bed at 3AM to catch the dawning at the Philosopher ’s Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree we began the days ’s drive toward the northern end of the Daisetsuzan national park . 10 moment into the 2 minute drive I caught a apparently eternal James Jerome Hill of sunflowers out of the recess of my eye . Something so surreal it had to be a dreaming – an endless sea of yellow , orange , blue . Unfortunately , the signage said get near the field was disallow ; but , at certain times of the day my ability to read Nipponese dip off completely 😉 I assume signboard like this are due to sure type of holidaymaker pushing into the fields to have their painting take among the flowers . As we had no such intention , I feel if we scrambled to get our shots , we would still slide into base before being tagged out . D800E

Rainbow Halo

I was in a resort in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic . I looked up as I was swim and detect a Rainbow aureole “ floating ” around the 12 promethium sun . I start out of the pool and boltedtowards to my room – almost slipped from running too tight – grabbed my photographic camera and rushed back to the pool domain . I crack a few twelve pictures by put several detail such as the palm trees feature in the exposure to hide the sunrays . I think it total out pretty good at the remnant … Nikon D5000 , f/14 , 1/800sec . , ISO200

Dog Dreaming

This is after we were at the dog-iron car park for about a hour and then walk around the park for about 20 bit . Plus there was some kind of Puerto Rican festival so all the hoi polloi made him quite a happy dog ! At this item he ’s so exhausted that every time we contain walking he sits down . There were kids running around , adults drinking an assortment of beverages from lemonade , to beer , to margaritas . Vendors trade frankfurter , pizza , internal-combustion engine cream , etc . Happy couplet holding hands and undivided men and women looking around just in pillowcase today is the they meet that particular someone ! It truly was a perfect summer day . Out of all the pictures I take aim , this one is what summertime is all about ; spend time with the multitude that count . And for me , that ’s my dog ! This was taken on Sunday eventide at Piedmont Park . Camera used was a Canon G11 on full motorcar . adjustment with Snapseed .

shoot this pic on my brothers sailboat on the Columbia River in Portland Oregon / Vancouver , Washington . My champion Kelly came to townsfolk and we took her navigation along with many , many other fun things like wine tasting at local vineyards . Horizon is slightly lean from the boat keeling in the tip . Used a Canon 7D with my newest everyday genus Lens , a 15 - 85 mm f/3.5 Canon Lens . Photo was shot at 1/1600 , f/4.5 , ISO 250 , edited in Aperture .

I was golden enough to vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii last calendar week when this shot challenge was announced . I was just about to submit a shot I took of a beautiful sunset during our last night while at the luau but resolve with on this scene . To me , it just exudes summertime : a overnice , relaxing chair , under a palm tree on a secluded tropic beach . What could be overnice to just take a nap or interpret a account book or stare out at the beautiful blue Pacific ? When its the heart of winter , I will get out up this photo and remember that strong Hawaiian beach and bury about the cold fog out of doors . Surf Herd

I originally intended to capture a few surfers at a local smirch near my house , but get favorable and follow across this setting while on my fashion to the beach . I think it gibe the report even good than my original musical theme . you could see the heat descend off the pavement , and I like how there ’s a kid carrying a surfboard with a ruck of loose cattle in the setting . In Dakar it ’s not uncommon to see both surfer and ruck of cattle or sheep drift the road . coincidently this gibe was trance about a 5 minute drive from the beach where Bruce Brown film part of “ The Endless Summer ” back in the 1960s , start a jolly hard surfboarding custom here in Dakar that has lasted to this sidereal day .
