British hacker Michael Jordon recently collapse the encryption in a Canon Pixma printing machine and got the machine to toy the classic demon - shooter . That little display that you would usually use to tell your printing machine to collate or whatever is now home to Doomguy blasting hellspawn with his BFG . Jordon himself accommodate , “ The coloration palette is still not quite right-hand . ” But everything else basically works .
“ The printing machine has a 32 - bit subdivision processor , 10 million of memory and even the covert is the correct size , ” Jordontold the BBC . “ I had all the bits , but it was a coding problem to get it all running together . ”
The real ride problem , though , is on Canon ’s death . This kind of thing should not be possible .
