Alright AMD , I ’m feeling what you ’re putting down . Instead of stickers with XY and Z central processor names take up palmrests , you ’d rather just assure hoi polloi what the computing machine can do .
No more shining AMD Turion or Athlon stickers . The caller is done telling consumers what exact processor is inside the computer and alternatively it will use its new Vision political platform to excuse what you could do with the computer .
Vision damp system into three tiers — Vision , Vision Premium and Vision Ultimate . The introductory Vision is for simple chore ( that of your netbook , ultrathin notebook or basic mainstream system ) . The Premium is one step up the computation ladder and has Direct X 10.1 and HD support amongst other thing . On the top is Ultimate which can work picture encoding and HD picture redaction . Now my first question was how the hell is Joe Schmo supposed to eff the difference between these levels on a system any well than they know a central processing unit name ?
AMD ’s answer is to copulate these Vision levels with other explainers or icons that tell you what the system can really do with digital content — see , share , make . Seems elementary enough — which means more spine on the palmrest .
