archeologist in Pompeii have discovered political dedication on the walls of a sign in Pompeii . Inscriptions of this character , first carved and then paint in red ( porpora ) , are coarse on the outside walls of theatre and shop in the ancient city , and even on millstones . However , this is the first time they have been discover inside a home , providing more insight into the daylight - to - daytime life in Pompeii before it was buried in the Vesuvius eruption of 79 CE .
This discovery comes from the same house wherethe fresco with focaccia , pesto , and winewas bring out a few months back . These are new excavation in the nub of Pompeii with the goal of good protecting theater and workshop along the Via di Nola .
The inscription were find inside the Lararium . This is the shrine to the Lares , hero - ancestors or guardian spirits of the Roman family . folk members performed daily rituals in front of the shrine , and in an incredible discovery , the researchers were able to retrace what the last forfeiture to this shrine was before the fateful eructation .

A few months ago , in the bakeshop , archaeologist found the remains of three victims of the first eruptive phase . Two adult female and a childwere inhume under a collapsed roof .
The presence of a bakehouse in the star sign and the political candidature go on , suggest a possible vote trading – not exactly corruption per se but a strategic alignment between the politicians and the bakers .
