On Monday night ’s superhero soap opera Heroes , something staggering hap . The series ’ new showrunner Bryan Fuller wrote the sequence , and it felt like a sport with storytelling superpowers saved the daylight . Spoilers beforehand !
I ’m not letting this show off the hook yet – just because Monday ’s “ Cold Snap ” had moments of awesome does not mean Heroes is necessarily carry through . But it ’s hard not to get a little activated when you see a scenery like this one , where Ice Tracy hold open Rebel Micah with her freezy big businessman . Yes , Micah is back ! His representative has exchange , his cuteness would give Harry Potter a running for his money , and let ’s hope we ’re not seeing the last of him . As many of us predicted , Micah was Rebel – the mystery mutant who has been help our heroes evade capture by feed them help via schoolbook , computing machine , and any other techie gimmick that come about to be around .
Too bad his endeavor to deliver Tracy went so wrong . She made a deal with dual - agent HRG to leave the shock scout group to Rebel , not realizing that Rebel was her clone Nikki ’s tiddler . So she grew a moral sense and sacrifice herself for the rebellion , which was all Star Wars of her . Meanwhile , HRG did n’t get Rebel , which may handicap his ongoing sweat to ingratiate himself with The Hunter , the scary petty white sheik who leads the shock troops in their mutant - immurement performance .

We do get a luck to see the new mutant prison in this episode , by the way , and the orange jumpsuit have all been replaced with a Coma - like hospital where all the mutants just lie on gurneys and suck up drug that keep them zonked . Even Speedy Daphne is there , dying of sepsis from her gunfire wound , but Parkman and Suresh rescue her and bring her to the hospital . For some understanding Tracy waken Parkman and Suresh on her way out of the prison after Rebel helps her escape ( HRG allows the escape to happen so he can pass over her to Rebel ) .
It seems like Fuller was feeling a piddling rebooty with this episode , and so some of the dialog gave us recapitulation on past action as if he was essentially telegraphing to us : Here is the stuff I ’m salvaging from the past season . Among the salvaged plot of land lines are of course Micah ’s , but also Parkman ’s relationship with his hot , ultra - successful ex - wife ; HRG ’s secret connection to Mama Petrelli and Peter ; and ( thankfully ) Hiro ’s power .
Rebel sends Hiro and Ando on a quest that is almost all devoid of “ funny Asiatic trick ” ( thank you , Fuller ! ) . They ’re to rescue Matt Parkman ’s baby , also mysteriously named Matt Parkman even though he ’s the tyke of Matt ’s ex who sort of hate him and never told him about their child . call on out Mini Matt is some kind of wizard “ on electrical switch , ” who can turn on TVs and nettlesome tiddler ’ toys – and when Ando amplifies the on electrical switch superpower , he gets a giant burst of electricity . But really the on switch goes beyond that , because drooly Mini Matt also manages to turn on Hiro ’s power to stop time as well . Which was capital , because ( A ) Hiro has power again and ( B ) he and Ando and Mini Matt escape from the daze troop and Matt ’s x - married woman . So now Hiro and Ando are on the run with Mini Matt , and Hiro is going to have to decide his childhood issues so he can be a good surrogate parent .

Also on the lean of escapee is Mama Petrelli , rescued by flying Peter from a lot of shock troops that HRG direct after her to impress his young boyfriend The Hunter . Another guy who clearly wants to be Hunter ’s boyfriend is Sylar , who was totally absentminded from this instalment but did leave behind Hunter a overnice present in his pad . He somehow enamor Creepy Puppet Guy and strung him up in Hunter ’s living room with a big bow on and a card that said “ A talent for you . ” Please have Sylar and Hunter actually get it on or something . I really do n’t want this to be YET ANOTHER sexless daddy issue affair .
So where does that leave us ? Tracy may be ready for the methamphetamine pail , but I think we may see her again . First of all , we saw an oculus open on her tattered typeface after Hunter charge her . But even if that was just the last twitch of a dying hero , we lie with that there is still one more clone of her running around somewhere . Nikki and Tracy are down , so next do we get Candy or Mandy or Micky ?
Also I ca n’t countenance you go without mention the one ultra - rotten bit in this episode when Speedy Daphne cash in one’s chips . After Matt rescues her and take her to the hospital , she ’s fundamentally dying . So as she ’s slip one’s mind away he open her a final fantasy in her mastermind , where they go to Paris and he flies her over the metropolis . She recognise it ’s a dreaming , and that she ’s pall , and has one last request : That Matt fly her to the moonshine . OK , you KNOW that ’s kick the bucket to be bad , right ? So Matt whizz along her up to a really cheesy moon screensaver , and they sort of float around in this dancey way in front of all these lunar month montage , and fundamentally all I could conceive about was how unspeakable those mini - dreads face in Daphne ’s hair and how I wish well Matt would get back together with his hot ex-husband - married woman or perhaps participate in a 4 - way with Hunter , HRG , and Sylar .

But you know what ? Fuller may be capable to save Heroes , but I ’m judge he ’ll never give me the homophile superhero orgy that I want . I approximate that ’s o.k. .
