leave chargeman . Forgetlightsabers . Forget navies and flotilla , and armies of clones and droids alike . Padmé Amidala ’s press is the deadliest weapon in the galaxy far , far away , because theselooks are grampus .
The Star Wars Kids Channel ’s “ By the Numbers ” series is one of the weirdest , most specific bit of prescribed ephemeron Lucasfilm puts out about Star Wars lately , a tremendous love letter to a ) how archival obsession is autochthonal to the text of Star Wars itself and b ) how wonderfully dorky that is in the first place . We ’ve hadyeses and nos , everysilly Luke interrogative sentence , creatures , everymention of the Force , aliens — you name it , it has been collate into a montage of numbercrunching . Now though , we have mode .

Specifically , the many excellent and stylish looks of Padmé . Turns out , across the three prequel pic , Padmé has a whopping 61 costume changes — although they kind of wander a few like counting Padmé getting her clean Attack of the Clones jump suit conveniently clawed into a crop top as a costume change , as if Nexu chela wounds were a hot raw accessory setting the Theed fashion elite group into a fluster . And , woefully , it does n’t admit any of Padmé ’s looks from theClone Wars animated series , which is a shame because she has some great ones there — I’ll always hump her action - ready jumpsuit / vest spirit from that serial ; it ’s an almost smuggler - esque esthetic .
If we have to stick to the movies though , as much as I do love that crest Attack of the Clones Geonosis look — Padmé ’s first ever Black Series action digit has it , and it ’s stark — I ca n’t help but go back to the iconic Padmé fashion era that was The Phantom Menace .
Whether it ’s the ornate , vividly colourize robes she wears in Theed ’s throne elbow room , to the somewhat - more - hard-nosed - but - not - really battle gown she get into to liberate that same throne room in the film ’s climax , Padmé ’s fashion in TPM was striking and unlike anything we ’d seen in Star Wars before , arefreshing and boldset of conception choices in and among the film ’s other effort to get hitched with themselves into the design hallmarks of the original films .
