Today , we checked out the 15 ( and numeration ! ) superheroes and villain who have dispatched Batman with comfort , collectively hushed the people chatting over the sound of our flick , and entered into a debate about a book .
In response tothis post , looking at thrill of racismagainst Jared Diamond ’s newest book , The World Until Yesterday , and what it mean for his previous book Guns , Germs , and Steel , Ramez Naamcame in to partake in this psychoanalysis :

I ’m not a huge buff of Jared Diamond . I intend Guns , Germs , and Steel , while strong in a number of fashion , got a draw incorrect and ignore some crowing problems with his dissertation . And I intend Collapse was far more eco - pessimistic than is support by the data point . I have no interest in reading The World Until Yesterday or in rude acculturation adoration .
But … I think calling him a racist is a stretch . Guns , Germs , and Steel ( which I have issues with it ) was really a very long attempt at dispel a racist meme – at showing that it was the chance of the environment people chance themselves in – and not their own race or genetics – that wager the major persona in how well their society flourished . That is really pretty anti - racist in my book .
