Inlast week ’s episode of Doctor Who , John Simm returned to his role as the nefarious Master for the first time in seven geezerhood . It was a shocking , awesome here and now … but it would ’ve been 10 times that if the BBC hadn’tannounced it was happen two month ago .
The Master ’s reveal in “ World Enough and Time ” was somewhat dampened because most hoi polloi assumed that the mysterious Mr. Razor , Bill ’s sole “ protagonist ” for much of the episode , was really the Master in one of his patented kinky camouflage . And everyone already knew that not only was Simm back , he ’d be making an appearance in that very episode .
But thankfully even the Master himself is in agreement . address in the latest outlet of Doctor Who Magazine , out this week , Simm discussed his return as well as his own personal disappointment in the early announcement :

I ’d never been given the opportunity to use prosthetics and sort of veil underneath this brilliant face that they fall in me . That was just so good . I could really spiel with that . So I was a fleck discomfited when they let it out that I was number back . Because the consultation is apparently going to pretend that [ Mr. Razor ] is me , are n’t they ?
It ’s still a great reveal , but can you imagine the utter jar if the news had never been trumpeted out by the BBC , or hell , even put inthe trailer for the rest of the seriesat the end of time of year 10 ’s 2nd sequence ? You would ’ve needed a Time Lord ’s 2nd centre just in case you swag over in surprisal !
Doctor Who ’s tenth season concludes this Saturday , July 1 .
