Say what you will about pat - metal , but the genre has a few stand up - out classics . And while Faith No More can hardly be tied down to one genre , their 1989 classic “ Epic ” is a ego - awarely idiotic — and awesome — basic of the form .
A precursor to the more mainstream explosion of rap - metal in the mid - to - former 90s , “ Epic ” was something of a smasher in its sidereal day , or so I have come to understand as a “ young’un . ” I dishonourably only detect the band and this song in particular a few geezerhood ago , but became an instant lover . And even if you were all up on it years ago , it ’s worth revisiting .
