A 23-year-old woman with cerebral palsy was pulled out of her burning California home through a bedroom window, and the heroic rescue was captured on video.

Firefighters responded six minutes after receiving the call and immediately saw the single-story home “well involved with smoke and fire.”

Two people escaped the blaze on time, but a 23-year-old woman, identified as Alise Romero, was stuck inside, reportsNBC Los Angeles.

“I just prayed and prayed to the lord to give the fighters the strength they needed to do what they needed to do,” Elizabeth told NBC Los Angeles. “My daughter is nonverbal and I remembered yelling her name out.”

“I moved over and found the victim lying in the bed. I grabbed her and told her, ‘I got you and I’m not gonna let you go,’ " Capt. Turner told the outlet.

After being told where the window for Alise’s bedroom was, another pair of fighters waited on the other side of the wall to help carry Alise out of the home, which was captured in the video.

The fire department said that she was then transported to a local hospital, where she was reported to be in “serious but stable condition.” A family dog was also rescued from the home.

Alise’s closed bedroom door “helped prevent smoke and flames from causing major injuries, providing enough time for emergency crews to locate the child without any significant burns or airway injuries,” according to the press release.

“The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District would like to remind residents to keep bedroom doors closed, especially when someone is sleeping inside,” the press release said.
