A squad of stargazer has created the largest ever three - dimensional function of our extragalactic nebula ’s cosmic junk — and you may fly right through it .
The researcher , from Harvard University , have map out the distribution of space dust across three one-fourth of the night sky . They did that using data about 800 million hotshot take with thePan - STARRStelescope in Hawaii . They calculated on the nose where rubble exist by measuring the red-faced hue that it lends to ace in the data acquire by the telescope — in much the same way that particles around Earth induce sunset to bet reddish orange tree .
The result , soon to be put out in the Astrophysical Journal , have been wrick into a series of fly - through video by the researchers . The one above , for instance , take you on a spin around our very own Sun , labelled Sol . Elsewhere , though , you may research the team’s3D Dust Mapping sitewhich contain even bigger tours of the galaxy .

Aside from looking amazing , the resltuing maps should help stargazer sympathise the Milky Way in more particular than ever .
