Wired ’s Danger Roomhas learned that a calculator virus has infected the United States ’ Predator and Reaper dawdler . The computer virus is a keylogger that keep track of every pilots ’ key stroke as they do missions over Afghanistan and other locations .

The folk at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada ( where most of the monotone missions are controlled from ) found the virus two weeks ago but have had trouble polish off it . Danger Room ’s source ominously says , “ We keep wipe it off , and it keeps coming back . We think it ’s benignant . But we just do n’t get it on . ” There have n’t been any leak of classified information yet ( that they know of , at least ) but it ’s passing troubling that no one knows how it pay off there .

One theory is that because the Predator and Reaper crew expend removable hard campaign to load mathematical function and videos , the computer virus could have spread from those drives . The drives have been used in both classified and unclassified estimator so secret data could have been logged and sent somewhere else .

The ramifications of this virus will be HUGE and represents the new warfare front our armed forces has to fight . If the keylogger was maliciously put there by cyber-terrorist , they now have admission to a gem treasure trove of classified files , delegacy , etc . that could put the drone fleet and other military military personnel at risk of infection . This is not good . [ Danger Room ]
