Days after a spokesperson for Colorado Rep.Lauren Boebertdenied that she was vaping before being escorted out of a performance of theBeetlejuicemusical in Denver, newly released security footageshows the Republican seemingly taking a puff from a vape pen.
The Denver Postreported earlier this week that Boebert allegedly caused such a “disturbance” during the show that she was escorted out of the venue, according to an incident report filed with the venue.
Denver Arts & Venues wrote in their report that two patrons — allegedly including Boebert — were asked to leave the Buell Theatre during a performance of the touring Broadway show after earlier being issued a warning following complaints from three other attendees.
Boebert herself confirmed some of the reporting, writing on X, “It’s true, I did thoroughly enjoy the AMAZING Beetlejuice at the Buell Theatre and I plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud! Everyone should go see it if you get the chance this week and please let me know how it ends!”
But a spokesperson previously disputed reports that Boebert had been vaping, telling PEOPLE that a “venue ticket site notes there are heavy fog machines and electronic cigarettes used during the play” and that they “believe it was a misunderstanding from someone sitting near her.”
Newly released security footage, however, seemingly shows the lawmaker taking a puff of something while sitting in the theater before visible smoke comes out of her mouth.
A pregnant woman seated behind Boebert claimed to thePostthat she asked the lawmaker to stop vaping, and that Boebert refused.

In the video, the woman can be seen leaning forward and telling Boebert something as the lawmaker seemingly ignores her and stares forward. Elsewhere in the footage, Boebert can be seen taking flash photos with her phone (which is not permitted during the show) and raising her hands and dancing as other patrons sit silently in their seats.
According to the incident report filed with the venue and shared with thePost, ushers asked Boebert and her companion to leave after receiving several complaints, but they refused.
“I told them that they need to leave the theater and if they do not, they will be trespassing,” the report reads, according to thePost. “The patrons said they would not leave. I told them I would [be] going to get Denver Police. They said go get them.”

At one point during the footage, Boebert can be seen turning around as she exits and pointing her finger at the usher.
