Romero Flores' family did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.

The driver of the semi-truck that struck the teen outside of his home has been identified as 41-year-old Gregory Jackson,NBC affiliate KPRCreported.

His bond has been set at $250,000.

He died at the scene of the crash.

Neither Jackson (the semi-truck driver) nor the Toyota driver sustained injuries in the collision, another ABC affiliate,KTRE, reported.

Livingston Independent School District released a statement following Romero Flores’ death.

In its statement, the district also said it would provide counselors to “listen and help any students needing assistance.”

Livingston Independent School District and the Texas Department of Safety did not respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.
